Introduction to Laolongtan: Laolongtan, also called Black Dragon Pool, consists of four waterfalls: Laolongtan, Yuanyangtan, Sanxiantan, Guanyintan, and many strange peaks and rocks. Legend has it that there was a black python in Laolongtan who often made trouble after cultivating himself as a dragon. Yaogu reported the matter to the Jade Emperor, who ordered the Dragon King of Dongting to destroy him. He also ordered the Thunder God and the Mother of Thunder to use a thousand thunderbolts to dig three deep pools on the top of Yaogu Mountain, leading directly to the Yin River at the bottom of the mountain to connect with Dongting Lake. The foul-mouthed iron chain locked the black dragon at the mouth of the pool, making him salivate and atone for his sins. Laolongtan also got its name from this.
