Introduction to Xiangtan University: Hunan Xiangtan University was founded in 1958 at the personal suggestion of Chairman Mao Zedong. It was later suspended for some reasons. It was resumed at the end of 1974 and became a national key university in 1978. Wei Yuan, Zeng Guofan, Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Peng Dehuai, Qi Baishi, Zhang Tianyi and a large number of political greats, military commanders and cultural giants all came from here, which shows that this historic university has extraordinary strength.
