Introduction to the East Gate of Yueyang Tower: Yueyang Tower is known as "the water in Dongting is under the sky, and the Yueyang Tower is under the sky". It is also known as the three famous towers in Jiangnan together with the Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang, Jiangxi and the Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan, Hubei. This building was first built around 220 AD. According to legend, its predecessor was the "Military Review Building" of Lu Su, the general of the Eastern Wu Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period. It was renamed after the mid-Tang Dynasty.
