Introduction to Dongming Temple Plaque: Dongming Temple was built halfway up Dongming Mountain. Legend has it that it was originally named Gudao Temple. The temple was built in the Ming Dynasty and reached its peak during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It was burned down by the Japanese invaders in 1940. The current Dongming Temple was built later. The temple has three floors. The first floor contains a model of the original temple, the Guanyin Hall on the second floor houses a statue of Guanyin, and the houses on the third floor are the monks' residences.
