Introduction to the Parliament Building: The Parliament Building (Althingi) was designed and built by Danish architect Ferdinand Meldahl between 1880 and 1881. It is a traditional building in the 19th century. Today, only the debate hall, a few small conference rooms and some parliamentarians' offices remain in the parliament building, while other offices have been moved to several nearby buildings.
