Introduction to the Alpine Shepherd Festival: The Alpine Shepherd Festival (Unspunnunfest) first began in the early 13th century. It is a traditional festival with a history of 200 years. The event is located on the grassland near Wusben Castle. The purpose is to eliminate Tensions and conflicts between cities and villages, government and people. On the day of the festival, there are wonderful folk evening parties, folk dances, folk song concerts, Alpine wrestling matches, as well as city-wide parades and celebrations.
The famous Shepherd's Day is also one of the reasons why Interlaken has become a famous tourist destination. Today's Alpine Wrestling Club, Alpine Song and Horn Association, Swiss Folklore Preservation Association, etc. all originated from the Alps. Shepherd's Day.
