Introduction to Pisa Cathedral: Pisa Cathedral (Piazza del Duomo) was built in the 11th to 12th centuries AD. It was first built in 1063 and was designed by the sculptor Busqueto Pisa. The church is in the shape of a rectangular Latin cross in plan, 95 meters long, with four longitudinal rows of 68 Corinthian columns. The intersection of the deep nave and the wide transept is covered by an oval vault, and the nave is supported by light columns. The wooden frame structure and the olive-shaped roof dome are typical representatives of Italian Romanesque church architecture.
The church preserves a large number of precious works of art from the Renaissance. The large bronze chandelier in the hall is called the "Galileo Chandelier." When Galileo was worshiping in the church, he observed that the chandelier in the middle of the church swung back and forth periodically, and was inspired to propose The principle of swing was used by later generations to invent the pendulum.
