Introduction to the Gates of Heaven: There are three bronze doors outside the Baptistery of San Giovanni. The doors are engraved with bronze reliefs of stories from the Old Testament. Two of them were made by Ghiberti and took 28 years to complete. , called the "Gate of Heaven" by Michelangelo. The original relief is now in the cathedral's museum, and the one displayed on the door is a replica.
