Introduction to the Palace of Winds: The Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) is a landmark building in Jaipur. It was built in 1799 and is located next to the City Palace. It is a huge pink wall densely covered with 953 fans. The honeycomb-shaped windows are made of hollow red sandstone and are in the shape of half an octagon. This structure allows wind to blow in from anywhere in the palace. In case of strong winds, as long as the windows are opened, the strong wind will blow through the front and back. The windows will not blow the building down, so the palace is called the "Palace of Winds". The Palace of Winds has a street view on one side and overlooks the City Palace and Jantar Mantar on the other. It is said that the purpose of the original construction was to allow the harem women under the purdah system to watch the outside world through the window when they were bored.
