Introduction to Shanggantang: Shanggantang Village is the oldest thousand-year-old village discovered so far in Hunan Province. Except for seven families with different surnames who moved to the village after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the others are all members of the Zhou clan. The Zhou clan has settled in Shanggantang Village since before the Song Dynasty, and has multiplied for generations and continues to this day. There are still more than 200 ancient houses from the Ming and Qing Dynasties preserved in the village, and ancient buildings such as ancestral halls and attics are also well preserved.
