Introduction to the Lotus Root Temple: There is a Lotus Root Temple in the Nanfeng Temple, also known as Narcissus Temple. The ancient temple was originally located on the north bank of Minghu Lake, west of Tiegong Temple. There is a brief description in "Lao Can's Travels": "There are three rooms east of the round gate. In the old house, there is a broken plaque with the words "Ancient Narcissus Temple". In front of the temple is a shabby couplet that reads, "A cold spring recommends autumn chrysanthemums, and a boat is pierced with lotus flowers at midnight."
During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, some literati in Jinan decided to recommend Li Qingzhao, an outstanding female poet from the Song Dynasty in Jinan, to replace the original lotus root god. Someone proposed to rebuild the Lotus Root Temple, and it was finally completed in 1998. The temple is located on the north bank of Minghu Lake, under the Huibo Building, with Yan Gongtai to the west and a creek to the east. It is an independent courtyard. The courtyard walls are white and covered with small green tiles. There are round, fan-shaped and square windows on the walls. The courtyard is paved with pebbles, pines and cypresses are lush, pomegranates are red, and bamboos are shaking green shadows. It is very elegant.
