Introduction to Guodian Chu Bamboo Slips: In October 1993, while conducting rescue excavations on an ancient tomb in Guodian Village, Jishan Town, the archaeological staff of the Jingmen City Museum accidentally discovered this batch of tombs piled in the mud. Bamboo slips, these are the Guodian Chu bamboo slips that were later called "rewriting the history of Chinese thought" by academic circles.
The Guodian Chu bamboo slips have very high academic and cultural value. First of all, it is the earliest original book found in the world so far. Secondly, this batch of bamboo slips contains more than 800 bamboo slips and more than 13,000 words, including 18 articles (except 3 The remaining 15 chapters are all from the pre-Qin Dynasty and were published for the first time.) Their quantity, quality, and content are all very impressive. Thirdly, the contents of the Chu slips show us the original Confucian spirit, solve important problems left in the history of the development of Chinese Confucianism, fill the ideological and theoretical gaps between Confucius and Mencius, and reveal the relationship between early Confucianism and Taoism. Finally, the chapter "Tai Sheng Shui" in Guodian Chu Slips provides us with one of the oldest models of the generation of the universe, reflecting the thinking and wisdom of our ancestors on the natural generation of the universe thousands of years ago.
