Introduction to the Zhai Ancestral Hall: The Zhai Ancestral Hall is located in the northeast of Taohuatan, Jing County. It is the place of worship for the Zhai family of the Chen family. According to records, in the Ming and Qing dynasties, a total of fifteen people from the Zhai family were awarded the title of Jinshi. Hundreds, thousands of talented people. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhai Guoru, the general of Jiangnan Zhenfu, went to the Yunnan border to quell the rebellion and died for the country. The ancestral hall was given the title of "Loyalty and Filial Piety Hall" by the emperor.
The ancestral hall was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. It faces south and has five couplets and three entrances. It is modeled after the royal ancestral hall. It is large in scale and covers an area of 1,000 acres. The building materials are all nanmu and white marble. Its stone and wood carvings are rare in the world and are known as Mr. Luo Zhewen, an expert on ancient architecture from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, praised it as “the first temple in China”.
