Introduction to Mengmen Ancient Town: Mengmen has the reputation of "the first gate of the Yellow River" and "the second town of Jiuqu Yellow River". The ancient town is located in the middle of the Shanxi-Shaanxi Grand Canyon, on the east bank of the Yellow River 23 kilometers northwest of Liulin County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province. It is adjacent to Qikou in the north, Jundu in the south, Chengjiazhuang Town in the east, and faces Wubao County in Shaanxi Province across the Yellow River in the west. The Yellow River winds around several graceful bays here. The east bank of the largest bay is lined with rows of farmers' Ming and Qing folk houses and brick and earth cave dwellings. This prosperous ancient town, which has been dormant for nearly a hundred years, is independent and quiet amid the wave of modernization.
