Introduction to Ge Hong: Ge Hong (284-343), whose courtesy name was Zhichuan and whose name was Baopuzi, was from Jurong, Danyang County (now Jurong City, Jiangsu Province) in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. He was a famous alchemist and medical scientist. His handed down works include "Biography of Immortals", "Baopuzi", "Emergency Prescriptions", "Miscellaneous Notes of Xijing", etc. According to legend, Ge Hong tried to refine elixirs here, and later attained enlightenment and ascended to heaven, hence the name of the park.
