Introduction to the Three Hundred Martyrs: In November 1934, the Seventh Red Army and the Red Tenth Army joined forces in Dexing and were reorganized into the Red Tenth Army. Under the leadership of Fang Zhimin, Su Yu and others, they marched into southern Anhui and went north to fight against Japan, but were surrounded by the Kuomintang reactionaries. On January 16 of the following year, the troops who broke out of the encirclement were reorganized in Damao Mountain. More than 300 sick and wounded patients were recuperated in a natural cave in Wufeng Cave. Before the Qingming Festival, they were attacked wildly by the enemy and all were brutally killed. In 1987, a monument was erected to commemorate it.
