Introduction to Fyffe House: Fyffe House was built 160 years ago and was the first European-style building in Kaikoura. It is famous because of its rich history coupled with the fact that some of the building's foundations were made from the bones of giant whales. These whale bones come from several southern right whales that were killed in the bay in front of their former home. Fife Old House admission is NZD 10 for adults, NZD 5 for university students, and free for children.
