Introduction to the main monument: The main monument of "Century Dream Pursuing" stands majestically in the center of the park. It is 15 meters high and weighs more than 280 tons. It is carved from high-quality "China Black" granite and was designed by the former Central Academy of Fine Arts. Professor Hou Yimin, deputy dean and designer of the third and fourth sets of RMB of the People's Republic of China, designed it himself. The bold use of black stone in the main monument has no precedent in China. The black color of the stone itself makes the image of the miners on the main monument more vigorous and powerful. The images of the two founders of Kailuan, Tang Tingshu and Zhou Xuexi, become deeper and more vigorous. The main monument uses the language of figurative sculpture to quietly tell the story of Kailuan's unswerving pursuit of the century-old dream of strengthening the country, enriching the people, and rejuvenating the nation after hundreds of years of development. It shows the broad sentiments of Kailuan people mining light underground thousands of meters away, and highlights the pioneering work of several generations.
