Introduction to the broken bridge at the mouth of the river: This bridge was originally called "Qingcheng Bridge". It was built jointly by Japan in 1941 under the orders of the Korean authorities and the puppet Manchukuo. It was completed in 1942 and was bombed by a US military plane on March 29, 1951. Although it cannot be called the earliest bridge on the Yalu River, it can be called the earliest road bridge built on the Yalu River. According to the veteran Red Army who participated in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, on October 19, 1950, it was Peng Dehuai, who was appointed commander-in-chief of the volunteers to North Korea, and Mao Anying, the son of Mao Zedong, who was among the first batch of volunteers to go to North Korea, secretly crossed the river at night from this bridge to fight.
