Introduction to the African Buffalo: The African Buffalo or the African Wild Buffalo is one of the five largest animals in Africa and the most common animal on the African grasslands. Adult buffalo can reach a height of 6 feet (1 foot is about 0.3 meters) and a length of 11 feet. Male buffalo can weigh up to 1,500 pounds (1 pound is about 0.45 kilograms). It has a ferocious temperament and is difficult to tame. It often moves in groups. Although it is a pure vegetarian animal, it is one of the most dangerous beasts in Africa.
