Introduction to the Bonsai Room: The Bonsai House in Kew Gardens was built in 1887 and was originally used to display alpine plants. After the completion of the new alpine greenhouse in 1981, it was relegated to the growth of alpine and moss saxifrage Campanulas. The nursery, after renovation in the 1990s, is used as a bonsai collection exhibition room.
