Introduction to Mother Teresa’s House of Charity: Mother Teresa’s Home of Charity (Mother House) is divided into Kalighat, the House of the Dying. It takes care of some dying elderly people; Prem Dan, a home for the elderly, takes care of the elderly who need long-term care; Nirmala Shishu Bhavan, a children's home, takes care of children. If foreign travelers can communicate in basic English, they can sign up to be volunteers. They can choose a day, a week or a long term, and they will be responsible for their own food and accommodation.
