Introduction to Arashiyama: Arashiyama is a famous scenic spot in the northwest of Kyoto. During the Heian period, it was a gathering place for the mansions of nobles of the dynasty, and many of the legacy of the Heian dynasty have been preserved. Arashiyama Scenic Area is home to many ancient temples and shrines, and Tenryuji Temple is a World Heritage-level monument. The bamboo forest path from Nonomiya Shrine to Okouchi Villa was the filming location for the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" directed by Ang Lee.
