Introduction to Ginkakuji: Ginkakuji, originally called Cishoji, was built at the end of the 15th century. It was once a villa built by Ashikaga Yoshimasa in imitation of the Kinkakuji built by his grandfather. Although the "Silver Pavilion" does not have a gorgeous silver foil exterior wall, the ingeniously built gardens, ponds, and the mountain-shaped platform made of white sand in the courtyard make the Ginkaku Temple look particularly quiet.
