Introduction to Yuanjue Temple: is located in Yuanjue Village, Pengcheng Town, about 15 kilometers away from the ancient city. Yuanjue Temple was built in the early Tang Dynasty. It was built by Li Chunfeng for Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty to suppress the king of Southwest China. It was later destroyed by fire and rebuilt in the seventh year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1374). It was named Faxian Temple in Chenghua and was presided over by a monk from Beijing. There are 80 volumes of Huayan Sutra originally stored in Yuanjue Temple. They were written by Yang Puming on Korean paper with gold powder in the fourth year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (1453).
