Introduction to the Tang-Tibet Alliance Monument: The Tang-Tibet Alliance Monument stands in the square in front of the Jokhang Temple. It is 3.42 meters high, 0.82 meters wide and 0.6 meters thick. 35 meters, inscribed in both Tibetan and Chinese characters in the third year of Tang Changqing's reign (823). In the ninth century AD, the Tang Dynasty and the Tubo Dynasty reached peace. At that time, the Zanpu Tride Zuzan erected this monument in front of the Jokhang Temple to express the sincerity of the friendship between the two peoples for generations. The inscription is simple and sincere. There is a willow tree next to the monument, which is said to have been planted by Princess Wencheng herself. The locals call it Princess Willow.
