Introduction to the Qilu Alliance Ceremony Altar:In the second year of King Jing of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (500 BC), Qi official Li Ji advised Qi Jinggong: "Lu's appointment of Confucius will endanger Qi.", "The envoy will tell Lu that it is a good idea to meet in Jiagu Mountain." Qi Jinggong sent an envoy to the state of Lu to discuss the conclusion of a harmonious alliance, and the meeting place was in Jiagu Mountain. Lu Dinggong followed Confucius' suggestion and led Sima and other large groups to Jiagu Mountain to meet Qi Jinggong. Jiagu Mountain is the southeastern boundary of Shandong and connects with the southern boundary of Qi. The state of Qi wanted to defeat Confucius, who "knows etiquette but has no courage" in the alliance arena. The ceremonial officials of Qi state asked to play music from all directions. Jingjing, feathers, spears, halberds, swords and shields all appeared on the stage, and the noise was harsh. Confucius asked Lu Dinggong to step back first, but he stepped forward, climbed the steps and shouted: "The kings of the two countries came to meet for peace and alliance, how can they play the music of Yi and Di here!" If you don't plan for Xia, the barbarians won't mess with China, if you don't take prisoners and make alliances, if you don't force the army, it will be good." Confucius spoke calmly, leaving the other person speechless. "Let the king repent and plan to seize morale, and the descendants fight against each other. Only Confucius listened." Qi Jinggong had no choice but to make an alliance. The Qi State returned the previously invaded Lu State's Yun, Wenyang, Guiyin and other places. This was one of the major events in ancient Chinese history: the Qi-Lu Alliance. Jiagu Mountain was called a holy land by later generations because of Confucius' visit.
