Introduction to Yang Jisheng's title couplet: Yang Jisheng (1516-1555), an official in the Ming Dynasty. A native of Rongcheng (now Hebei Province), his courtesy name was Zhongfang and his nickname was Jiaoshan. During the Jiajing period, he was a Jinshi and served as a member of the Ministry of War, Wai Lang. He was demoted because he impeached General Qiu Luan for being timid and compromised with me. Later, he was appointed as a member of the Ministry of Punishment, Wai Lang, and the Military Selection Department of the Ministry of War. He was impeached by Shangshu and Yan Song was killed for ten crimes.
On the body of Wenfeng Pagoda is engraved a famous couplet written by Yang Jisheng when he was lecturing in the academy: "Iron shoulders carry moral principles, and dangerous hands write articles." It is moving to see it.
