Introduction to Liu Ji’s former residence: The former residence has five bays. Liu Ji was born here on June 15, 1311; he died here on April 16, 1375. There are extant inscriptions, stone mortars and other objects used by Liu Ji to build a house after he abandoned his official position and retired to hermitage at the age of 48. "History of the Ming Dynasty·Biography of Liu Ji" records: "In the first month of the fourth year of Hongwu, he was given to the old man to return. He only drank wine, played chess, and did not talk about his merits. The governor of the city was not able to see him, so he went to the barbarians in disguise. Ji Fang washed his feet and ordered his son to lead him into the thatched cottage. "This shows that Liu Ji's house was simple and his character was noble at that time.
