Introduction to Ruofei Bridge: To commemorate the three martyrs Wang Ruofei, Ye Ting and Bogu who were killed in a plane on April 8, 1946, the then Jiangsu-Anhui Border Region Government erected the "Ruofei Bridge" stone monument next to the Qingjiang Gate. The three words "Ruofeiqiao" were inscribed by Zhang Kaifan, then secretary-general of the Jiangsu-Anhui Border Region Government. Later, the monument was pushed down the canal by the Kuomintang troops. After the second liberation of Huaiyin in 1948, the Qingjiang Municipal Government organized a salvage operation in January 1951. As a result, only the two stele stones "Ruofei" were salvaged, but the "Qiao" stele was not recovered. So Cheng Bogong, who was working in the Huaiyin County (now Huaiyin District) government at that time, was asked to write the word "bridge". As a result, people now see obvious differences between the word "bridge" and the word "ruofei".
