It was first sculpted in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and later destroyed. In 1999, the white marble statue was rebuilt. The River God is also known as "the Immortal" and "the Immortal". "Gods" and "Shinto" are the boatmen's belief and worship of gods. In the past, whenever the boat gang trackers came to Lueyang, the boat gang leaders, boatmen, and trackers would come here to worship the "River God", bring offerings, burn incense, make wishes, and pray to the "River God" to bless the boats with calm waves and safe navigation when traveling on the river. . Local people often come to the Jiangshen Temple to worship during the New Year and festivals, praying to the "River God" to bless "good weather and abundant harvests" in the coming year.
