Introduction to Tianhou Temple: Lukang Tianhou Temple is located on Zhongshan Road. It was founded in 221 BC. It is the only temple in Taiwan that enshrines the statue of Our Lady of the Meizhou Ancestral Temple. Since the Meizhou Ancestral Temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution in Mainland China, the statue of the Founding Virgin of Meizhou enshrined in Lukang Tianhou Temple and related Meizhou cultural relics have become the only remaining historical treasures. Believers in Tianhou Temple are spread all over Taiwan and even around the world, and there is an endless stream of pilgrims all year round. Especially during the incense-burning period between January and March of the lunar calendar, it is even more crowded. The ancient, grand and magnificent original architectural structure of Tin Hau also attracts a large number of tourists.
