Introduction to Madame Tussaud: Madame Tussaud (1761-1850) was an outstanding French artist who was famous for her wax figures. She learned the craft of wax figure making from a doctor when she was a child. The wax figure of French writer Voltaire became her famous work. In 1835, when she was 74 years old, she set up a permanent pavilion in Baker Street, London.
