Introduction to the Egyptian Temple: The Egyptian Temple (Templo de Debod) is an ancient Egyptian temple rebuilt in another location in Madrid. The Egyptian temple was built in the 2nd century BC. It was originally located 15 kilometers south of Aswan, Egypt, and was used to worship the goddess Isis. In 1960, due to the need to build the Aswan High Dam, many monuments and archaeological sites were in danger. UNESCO has launched an international call for protection of these threatened heritage sites. In the end, as a thank you for Spain's help in protecting the Abu Simbel Temple, the Egyptian government donated the temple to Spain, and it was rebuilt in Madrid in 1968.
