Introduction to Plaza de Oriente: Plaza de Oriente is a garden-style square whose history can be traced back to the period of Joseph Bonaparte in the 19th century. On the west and east sides of the square are the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Royal Theater respectively. A series of small bars on one side of the theater are arranged in a semicircle. There are fountains and an equestrian statue of King Philip IV in the square, which complement the palace and form a beautiful landscape.
