It is said that after the Sino-French Majiang naval war, the Qing court asked who shot the cannon. Because the Qing government had long banned "no firing first", the officers and soldiers did not dare to admit it, so they assumed that it was the artillery god who fired. The stone statue of the five-gun god refers to this allusion.
