Introduction to the Castle of St. John: The Castle of St. John is a fortress in Marseille. Louis XIV ordered it to be built at the entrance of the Old Port in 1660. The cannons on the castle were pointed into the city, not outside. Today's Fort Saint-Jean has been converted into an exhibition hall and museum. From the top of the fort, you can have an unobstructed view of the entire Old Port. It is a place not to be missed by photography enthusiasts.
