Introduction to Meizhou Mazu Temple: Meizhou Mazu Temple is located at the northern end of Meizhou Island. It was first built in the fourth year of Yongxi in the Song Dynasty (987 AD). Mazu (960-987) was the daughter of the Lin family on Meizhou Island. She left countless touching stories of rescuing people in her short life, and was later enshrined as a god.
Meizhou Mazu Temple has been expanded and repaired in the past dynasties, and now it has formed a well-proportioned, splendid and magnificent building complex.
