Introduction to Captain Cook's Cottage: Captain Cook's Cottage, located in Fitzroy Park in the heart of Melbourne, was built in memory of Captain James Cook, the first Englishman to arrive in Australia. This is a real cottage. In 1934, during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Melbourne, Sir Russell Grimwade, an Australian industrialist, invested 800 pounds to buy Captain Cook’s former residence in the UK. It was shipped by British Shipping Went to Melbourne and reorganized it as it was. There is a bronze statue of Captain Cook at the door of the cabin, wearing a triangular military hat, tights, knee-length leggings and buckle shoes. He holds a nautical chart in his left hand and a monocular telescope in his right hand. His eyes stared calmly into the distance.
