Introduction to Gunzhong Huaqun Miao Village: Gunzhong Huaqun Miao Village is located in Pingjiang Township, Rongjiang County, 30 kilometers away from the county seat. Legend has it that the Miao people were forced to move there due to wars during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. The village is surrounded by mountains, a towering ancient city, and many cultural relics and historic sites, including the Miao king's house foundations, ancient brick kiln sites, ancient bullrings, and Miao people's uprising sites.
Local Miao women wear batik and embroidered clothing with patterns of flowers, birds, dragons, phoenixes and other mascots, while men wear rugged bird-feather dresses and are known as "flower skirt Miao". Ancient customs such as singing in the singing hall and dancing on the moon for flowers, as well as ancient festivals such as the "Miao King Festival" and "Going to the Flower Slope on June 6th" are still inherited in their original form.
Gunzhong is the most famous place for making reeds. It produced Yang Changfan, who was called the "King of Lusheng" by Dong villagers in Miao Township. They used reeds to worship their ancestors, talk about love, and express everything with reeds.
