Introduction to birds: The zoogeographic fauna belongs to the coastal subzone of the Fujian-Guangzhou coastal sub-zone of the South China region of the Oriental boundary. There are 395 species of vertebrate wild animals in 41 orders, 111 families. There are 5 species of national first-level protected wild animals and 49 species of national second-level protected wild animals. There are 21 species listed in the National Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (2003). The types of migratory birds protected under the "China-Japan Migratory Bird Protection Agreement" and the "China-Australia Migratory Bird Protection Agreement" belonging to the International Migratory Bird Protection Network are 142 and 56 species respectively.
