Introduction to Kotor: Kotor is an ancient Mediterranean port city. The 1979 earthquake caused serious damage to urban buildings. At the 3rd World Heritage Committee Conference held that year, at the request of the then Yugoslav government, the Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor was included in both the World Heritage List and the World Heritage List. The "List of World Heritage in Danger" has become the first world heritage to be included in the "List of World Heritage in Danger" since the "Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage" came into effect in 1972.
