Introduction to the Patriarch's Hall: The Patriarch's Hall is the west side hall of the Main Hall and was built to commemorate the founder of the Zen sect. The center of the hall is dedicated to Zen Master Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. On the left is the Sixth Patriarch Huineng, the actual founder of Chinese Zen Buddhism, and on the right is Zen Master Baizhang who formulated the rules of the jungle.
