Introduction to Yougong Hall: In the early years of Jiaqing, Gan Guodong bought a piece of land in Nanzuoting, then known as Fuxi Street, and began to build a house. At the end of Jiaqing (1799), he officially moved here and named the hall "You Gong Tang". This hall is the hall name of the Gan family in Nanqiao Hall, and it is also the common title of the entire house and family. The root of "Yougong" is the Confucian "filial piety". For more than two hundred years, the spirit of "Yougong" has been regarded by ancestors of the Gan family as the soul and criterion for running a family and conducting life in society.
