Introduction to the Chess Museum: Mochou Lake chess culture has a history of more than 600 years since Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, and Xu Dayi, the king of Zhongshan, played chess. Since then, Mochou Lake Park has become a place for chess competitions between emperors and generals, dignitaries, wealthy businessmen, and literati. In order to inherit and carry forward the cultural spirit of Mochou chess, display the style of the gardens of the Six Dynasties, and pass on the essence of the gardens of the Ming and Qing dynasties, the park started construction of the Mochou chess museum on September 8, 2003.
