Introduction to the Shifang: The Shifang is also known as the "untie boat". The base in the pool is made of bluestone, and the cabin is carved with wood. The shape is simple and elegant. This boat was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and is the oldest in the presidential palace. It is also the only building in Xiyuan with the style of the northern Qing Dynasty official office.
Shifang was first used as a study room. Qianlong visited it many times during his southern tour and gave it a plaque with the inscription "Not Tie the Boat".
