Introduction to Hu Xiaoshi: Hu Xiaoshi (1888-1962) was named Guangwei, also known as Xiaoshi, also known as Qianyin and Xialu. He is a famous master of Chinese studies, a philologist, a litterateur, a historian, a calligrapher, and an artist. He is especially proficient in ancient philology, calligraphy, Chu Ci, Du Shi, and literary history. He, Chen Zhongfan and Wang Pijiang are known as the "three elders" of the Chinese Department of Nanjing University.
