Introduction to the Six Dynasties: The Six Dynasties refer to the six dynasties in the south from the Three Kingdoms to the Sui Dynasty in Chinese history from the beginning of the 3rd century AD to the end of the 6th century AD, namely the Three Kingdoms Wu (or Soochow, Sun Wu), the Eastern Jin, and the Southern Song (or known as Liu Song), Southern Qi (or Xiao Qi), Southern Liang, and Southern Chen. This period is an extremely important period in the history of Chinese cultural development. It is also an important chapter in the history of the founding of Nanjing as a city and capital. The splendid culture of the Six Dynasties left many humanistic allusions and historical relics in Nanjing.
