Introduction to Gantang Tower: The couplet used on the door of Gantang Tower is Shi Tao, a great painter in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, "Indulge in literature and art like lust, regard the ancients as friends", which was imitated by Lin Songnian, a famous contemporary painter from Nanhai, Guangdong. The inscription is written in an elegant style. Gantang is Tangli. The allusion here comes from "The Book of Songs·Guofeng·Zhaonan·Gantang". According to the generally accepted view, this poem praises Zhao Gong's moral rule. According to legend, when the Duke was out on patrol to hear a lawsuit, he would set up a tent and spend the night under the Gantang tree to sympathize with the sufferings of the people and not disturb the people. After the death of Duke Zhao, the people were grateful for his virtues and political education, and could not bear to destroy any branch of Gantang. Later generations used the name "Gantang" to praise Xunli's good governance and legacy. The name of this building is quite self-encouraging and self-beautiful.
