Songyan Temple Introduction: Songyan Temple is located in the hinterland of southern Songyan. It was built during the Jingde period of the Song Dynasty (1004-1008). It is called Chengzhao Temple. The founder is Zen Master Dabei. During the Yanyou period of the Yuan Dynasty, Zen Master Qiuyue built Shuiyue Zen Temple under Longbi Rock. During the Zhizheng period, Shuiyue Chanyuan was awarded the plaque "Songyan Temple". During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, it was merged into Chengzhao Temple. The name of Songyan Temple is still used today. Every year, Songyan Temple holds the "June and Sixth Sutra Suning" Dharma Assembly, which is an unprecedented event.
